Mevlana Jalaluddin Rumi was a Sufi mystic, poet, and philosopher who lived in the 13th century. Raised in Anatolia but originally from Balkh, Afghanistan, Mevlana is one of the most important representatives of the Islamic Sufi tradition. He is especially known for his works such as "Masnavi" and "Dîvân-ı Kebîr". LIFE AND EDUCATION
Mevlana Jalaluddin Rumi was born in the city of Balkh in 1207. He started his education at an early age and developed himself in many fields such as Islamic law, philosophy, hadith, and mysticism. He migrated to Anatolia at a young age and worked as a teacher here. He created an important educational center especially in Konya, where he wrote the Masnavi.
